Dinosaur Prints

When my daughter was about to turn 2, we got her the National Geographic Kids Dinosaur book. She loved looking through it and matching the pictures with her dinosaur figurines. She has always found the dinosaur names really funny and loved to practice them.

I paired the book with some playdough so she could explore dinosaur footprints in this setup. I made the footprints first and invited her to match them with the right dinosaur. She enjoyed looking through the book for the different dinosaurs, practicing their names and exploring their footprints.

Cleaning up is part of the learning process, so make sure to encourage your child to tidy up after they finish playing. Model how to do it until your child feels confident enough to initiate the tidying up process independently.

Bringing play to life:

  • How about making your own dinosaur fossil using playdough?
