What better way to learn about color theory than a hands-on exploration of primary colors?
For this activity I just spread an old white sheet on the floor and provided non-toxic paint that can be used for finger painting or with a brush. I let her explore as much as she wanted!
Exploring primary colors gives the child an opportunity to create secondary colors. And that’s the best part!
She was so happy while working on her masterpiece that she clapped for herself and I couldn’t help but join her. Once she was done she let me know she needed to wash her hands.
Cleaning up is part of the learning process, so make sure to encourage your child to tidy up after they finish playing. Model how to do it until your child feels confident enough to initiate the tidying up process independently.
